Hi, I am Samantha Block.

My love for photography begins with memories of staring at the prints hanging in my grandparents house of when my grandfather played guitar in a band. Fascinated about red saturated stage lighting and what it would have been like to be there.

Fast-forward through it being a high school hobby and a few college courses on the fundamentals later; now photography is not only an artistic expression for me, but a way to preserve memories for clients and my own family. I earned my bachelor's in communication studies and art & design at Northern Michigan University where I developed a love for Mother Superior, cliff jumping, waterfall chasing and overall exploring.

I have an amazingly supportive husband, Adam and a son and daughter who are growing too quickly.

Our free time is usually spent camping, gardening, kayaking and tending to our crazy and ever-growing funny farm that consists of (currently) eight chickens, four steer, one goat, our trusty lab, Silus and a barn cat we've never seen but are convinced exists. We don't get bored.

My love for the outdoors translates into my photography with a style that feels earthy and nostalgic by playing with natural light. In my eyes, we're creating a timeless piece of art that tells your story.

When we work together, my goal is to make you comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It's important to me that you have fun and enjoy your time while we shoot. Most of my clients end up saying that it didn't feel like a stuffy session, but that we were just hanging out.

I look forward to working with you! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Cheers,

Samantha Block
